Details

The objective of this project is to develop a real-time computer vision solution for accurately counting people in a moving environment. Using advanced image processing techniques and leveraging both C++ and Python, learners will design, implement, and optimize algorithms that can detect, track, and count individuals as they move through a scene. The project will culminate in a working prototype that demonstrates robust and real-time performance, even under varying lighting conditions and dynamic backgrounds, providing a practical solution for applications such as crowd monitoring and public space management.

Deliverables

Students are expected to complete a working program that utilizes computer vision with C++ and Python that successfully counts the number of people in a moving environment. The program should process video input in real-time, accurately detecting and counting people.

Students are also expected to complete a Comprehensive Report including preparation of a detailed report that includes:

  • A brief overview of the project and its goals.
  • The system design and methodology behind the people counting algorithm.
  • Performance evaluation and analysis, including any challenges encountered and potential improvements.

Livesens uses advanced technology to collect and analyze data in real-time. Our system helps businesses and organizations see what's happening right now by providing live reports on things like traffic, weather, or movement patterns through a visual dashboard. This allows our clients to make smarter, faster decisions that improve how they operate and achieve better results. All this is achieved by deploying modular sensor suites mounted atop vehicles.
